My First Book Contract

I’ve got my first book contract.

On January 25th, 2013 I signed with Howard Books to publish Friend Me.

First Contract

Howard Books is the Christian imprint of Simon & Schuster. I am very pleased to be associated with such a fine house. Simon & Schuster has been a major publisher since it was founded in 1924, and is one of the four largest publishing houses today, along with Random House, Penguin and Harper-Collins.

My association with Howard Books began at the 2012 conference of the American Christian Fiction Writers in Dallas. I was fortunate to pick up a free appointment with one of the associate editors who had a free block of time. She passed my sample Friend Me chapters along to an associate, who asked me for more. She liked what she read, and passed the manuscript up to the Editor-in-Chief, who also liked it.

At that time, although the manuscript was also under consideration by two other publishers, we chose to proceed with Howard. We like the strong Christian position of the Howard division and the wealth of resources available through such a strong publishing house. My agent is Linda Glaz, with Hartline Literary.

The best current estimate for seeing Friend Me in bookstores is Spring, 2014. I am thankful to God, the giver of all good and perfect gifts, for bringing me along to this place in  my life.
